But when faced with the fact that there are other forces at work in the universe, how will he respond?*** From Amazon.com review by Chris Fried for Writers Block Part 2 ***After Stu initially gets over his writer’s block in Writers Block: The Weston Files Part One, he once again gets stuck. Living with his faithful dog Rolo, he makes his way through life day by day. Stu is still grieving the loss of his wife five years ago when he remembers an old memory from a time when she was alive and he was very happy. He also meets a mysterious stranger, Waylon, and there is definitely more to him than meets the eye. And how does Stu’s magical typewriter fit into all of this?Setting up various threads, the author skillfully weaves them all together to form a compelling narrative of a man experiencing some denial of his grief while struggling with deadlines and losing his way in the process. An intriguing situation, a wonderful character in Stu and some playful humor to offset some of the darker aspects of this tale are all blended together in a small town setting to form a nuanced portrait of a man experiencing some complicated grief and we feel deeply for him, hoping things get better. We also get hints of a larger story at work here in the sleepy town of Weston, with tantalizing glimpses into what’s really going on and enough clues revealed to make us want to know more. Fortunately, this serialized story has several more parts to it and I cannot wait to see where the story takes me next!
